on sunday, while reviewing some notes, i came across an idea that sparked my interest and contemplation about what i might be able to do as my next study.
and on tuesday (21 august) when i met with adrian, he was on board with it. since control seemed to be such a huge factor to the findings from my esm study, i want to explore that a bit further. and i think i might be able to do it in a novel way. of course it's going to take a lot of work to actually conceptualize the idea and then read relevant literature and figure out exactly how to measure it, but at least it's a plan as to where to go next.
plus, i figured that it would work for what i need to write for my candidacy, which although adrian originally said i shouldn't worry about just yet, he came around to more of the plan that i had in mind. which is to finish the esm draft (and then get it re-worked to be published) and then do the candidacy because you have to propose your research for ethical approval within that (so that's where the new study comes in) and then while waiting on approval from that, i can work on things that i already have the data from the uk.
so our meeting was good and productive. which is always nice.
it's just too bad that i got nearly soaked, caught in intermittent rain while walking to and from the meeting.
