last friday i tried taking the bus from the hub to the grocery store and then riding the bus around to most of the way home. that seemed to work just fine which is nice (although later this afternoon i plan on walking so we'll see).
on saturday, i rode a bus into the city centre and went in search of the discount shops and then to the Western Australia museum. I managed to find a cheap enough plate, cup, fork and spoon to take to the office for lunch. I saw a nice photography exhibit at the museum and walked through some of the other exhibits including one about the old jail of perth and freemantle. Then i walked across town to look at the bell tower (was too late to go in) which is also where the ferry goes across the river. i thought about walking along the river but decided that since my foot still didn't feel awesome that a further, long walk might not be the best idea.

on sunday i was so bored that i walked to my office and did a few hours of work. which was helpful i suppose as i gathered all of my notes together to keep working on my hypotheses. but doesn't make for a terribly exciting day.
